Ruth Piungituq Siakuluk

Ruth Piungituq Siakuluk was born in Kangiqsimajuq, probably in 1926, and she lives in Hall Beach. Her testimony includes information about camp life while she was growing up and about some dog-rearing practices. She mentions a painful episode that her family had to go through when the bodies of her relatives (including her daughter’s) were requested to be moved to another location because buildings were to be built there. As she recalls, it was even more traumatic for her husband and other people who had to dig up their own relatives and bury them again.
