Aninrmiuq Qimirpik was born in 1953 near Kinngait. His testimony includes information about relations between Inuit and non-Inuit at Nottingham Island weather station in the late 1960s. He recalls a number of incidents happening there while he was a teenager. Alcohol abuse by non-Inuit endangered the lives of the Inuit as guns were readily available. He remembers how easy it was for non-Inuit to get alcohol. He remembers that his dogs were shot while he was away after he moved to the community.
